College Celebrates Success with NHS Staff
NHS staff have been updating their IT
skills through courses at Doncaster College's ICT
Academy.
The latest students to pass through the
Academy’s doors are staff at Doncaster and Bassetlaw Hospitals NHS
Trust who completed iTQ, NVQ for IT Users qualifications at Levels
1 and 2.
Trust Catering Manager John Cairns was one of
those completing the qualifications. He said: “As a mature student
I approached the iTQ course with a certain amount of trepidation,
but any concerns were soon allayed with the easy-to-follow books
and the support and encouragement from my tutor.”
June Duce IT/Clinical Systems Training Manager
at the Trust, said: “The Trust has worked in partnership with the
College and its ICT Academy delivering the NVQ for IT Users since
2003.
“During this time many staff from a variety of
different departments have successfully completed the programme,
enhancing their IT skills in the workplace thereby helping them to
adapt to changes in how IT is used in a hospital and healthcare
setting.
“This programme is excellent as staff learn IT
skills relevant to their particular job role, giving them the
necessary confidence to use existing and new IT systems.”
The Academy, based at Doncaster Business and Innovation
Centre, runs a wide range of computer courses at varying
levels. Further details can be obtained by calling 01302 554958 or
