Target Audience

This course is aimed at candidates who are creating and manipulating data, formatting data and content, creating and modifying formulas, presenting data visually, and collaborating on and securing data.

Pre-Course Requirements

Candidates should have the equivalent of six months to one year of hands-on experience with Microsoft Office Word 2010 or experience with previous versions of Microsoft Office Word.

The course provides delegates with the necessary skills to successfully achieve accredited certification in the chosen program.

 

Course Outline

To become a Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) in Microsoft Word 2010 an individual has to demonstrate proficient use of the application during a performance-based on-line exam. The topics covered are as follows:

 

Creating and Manipulating Data

· Insert data by using AutoFill

· Ensure data integrity

· Modify cell contents and formats

· Change Worksheet Views

· Manage worksheets

 

Formatting Data and Content

· Format worksheets

· Insert and modify rows and columns

· Format cells and cell content

· Format data as a table

 

Creating and Modifying Formulas

· Reference data in formulas

· Summarise data using a formula

· Summarise data using subtotals

· Conditionally summarise data by using a formula

· Look up data by using a formula

· Use conditional logic in a formula

· Format or modify text by using formulas

· Display and print formulas

Presenting Data Visually

· Create and format charts

· Modify charts

· Apply conditional formatting

· Insert and modify illustrations

· Outline data

· Sort and filter data

 

Collaborating and Securing Data

· Manage changes to workbooks

· Protect and share workbooks

· Prepare workbooks for distribution

· Save workbooks

· Set print options for printing data, worksheets, and workbooks

 

 

All instructors have undertaken the MOS programme, have several years teaching experience and have achieved MOS Instructor Certification.
