OCR Creative iMedia Level 1

Course outline

The OCR iMedia Level 1 course is a creative new media and digital arts course. It’s designed to introduce the basics of interactive media, from web page production to digital imaging. The iMedia course will provide you with practical, ‘hands-on’ creative skills to help you develop the skills needed for a career or keen interest in graphic design and website design.

Course aims

Creative iMedia is ideal for candidates who are interested in the following careers:

• Graphic Design
• Website Design
• Animation Techniques

Course structure

There are 2 different routes which you can take to complete the Award in Creative iMedia:

Tuesday Evenings:

• Unit 111: Introduction to web page production (Dreamweaver)
• Unit 112: Creating an animated object (flash)

Wednesday Evenings:

• Unit 113: Introduction to digital imaging (Photoshop)
• Unit 101: Pre-Production Skills
• Unit 111: Introduction to web page production (Dreamweaver)

How is the course organised?

Candidates will be required to attend the ICT Academy for 2 hours each week. The ICT Academy operates over the full year and candidates may join the programme at various times during the year.

Pre-Course Requirements

There are no formal requirements for the level 1 Creative iMedia. However basic knowledge of ICT is preferred.

Progression

Learners can progress through the levels from level 1 Award to level 2 Certificate.
