Course outline
This part time flexible learning programme comprises of the
candidate achieving 100 points (25 points for the mandatory unit
and 75 points from a range of optional units).
Competence is assessed by the development of a portfolio.
Evidence can be hard copy documents, observation, questionnaires,
discussion, photographs, witness testimonies etc.
Topics covered
This course includes:
· Mandatory Unit undertaken in the workplace demonstrating
competence in 4 tasks (25 points awarded)
· A choice of 14 optional units including word processing,
spreadsheets, presentations, database, e-mail, intranet/internet,
IT artwork and images, operate a computer, IT Security etc (75
points awarded)
Candidates must satisfactorily prove competence and achieve 100
points to gain the full iTQ award.

Learners who want a flexible, nationally recognised
qualification that demonstrates their ability to perform tasks
connected with their work.
Aim of the course
To improve and expand your current IT skills; with particular
relevance to the organisation.

This qualification is flexible so can be designed to suit your
company use and your own business systems. The iTQ is benchmarked
to National Occupational Standards.

the workplace, raising your levels of competence. If you have
recently (within the last 18 months) achieved qualifications in
ECDL, New CLAiT, City & Guilds 7262 you will have the
opportunity to map these into the NVQ.

No formal qualifications are required.
Candidates in full or part-time employment (paid or
voluntary)
Progression routes
Learners can progress on to the iTQ level 3.
