Outline of Program

A 3D Distance Learning Course is tailored to suit candidates seeking to gain advanced experience in the use of AutoCAD.

 

Aimed at those wishing to obtain an advanced City & Guilds CAD qualification without having to attend a formal course of study on a regular full or part-time basis. Each candidate is supplied with the coursework material, telephone hotline support, registration with City & Guilds.

 

Candidates will need access to an AutoCAD work station and must attend Doncaster College ICT Academy’s Autodesk Authorized Training Centre for one full day when ready to take the final assessments. Certificates are supplied when the candidate has successfully completed all the assessments. Candidates work at their own pace, but must complete within one year of enrolment on the course.

 

Entry Requirements

A course open to students who have reached a level of competence in using AutoCAD, to at least equal to the requirements of the 4353-02 scheme.

 

Who Should Attend?

This courseware is designed for advanced Autodesk AutoCAD users. An advanced level module, ideal for students working full time having experience with AutoCAD, to at least equal to the requirements of the 4353-02 scheme.

 

Aim of Course

On completion of the course, the candidate will be able to:

· Apply appropriate commands to set the 3D modelling environment

· Create and use working planes at any required position within 3D space

· Define and use coordinate points at any position within 3D space

· Apply appropriate commands to construct the whole or part of a 3D model using surface and solid modelling

· Apply appropriate commands to modify 3D solid objects

· Apply appropriate commands to perform 3D operations on existing objects

· Apply appropriate commands to manipulate a 3D model

· Apply appropriate commands to view 3D models in a variety of display formats

· Print, plot, export 3D models.
