Outline of Program

A 2D Distance Learning Course is tailored to suit candidates seeking to gain further experience in the use of AutoCAD.

 

Aimed at those wishing to obtain an intermediate City & Guilds CAD qualification without having to attend a formal course of study on a regular full or part-time basis. Each candidate is supplied with the coursework material, telephone hotline support, registration with City & Guilds.

 

Candidates will need access to an AutoCAD work station and must attend Doncaster College ICT Academy’s Autodesk Authorized Training Centre for one full day when ready to take the final assessments. Certificates are supplied when the candidate has successfully completed all the assessments. Candidates work at their own pace, but must complete within one year of enrolment on the course.

 

Entry Requirements

A course open to students who have reached a level of competence in using AutoCAD, to at least equal to the requirements of the 4353-01 scheme.

 

Who Should Attend?

This courseware is designed for experienced Autodesk AutoCAD users. An intermediate level module, ideal for students working full time having experience with AutoCAD, to at least equal to the requirements of the 4353-01 scheme.

 

Aim of Course

On completion of the course, the candidate will be able to:

 

· Use a layering system and different line type styles

· Define and use a system for grouping objects to form blocks or libraries

· Produce isometric drawings

· Define and use an adjustable coordinate system based on user requirements

· Use complex dimensioning routines

· Use different drawing spaces

· Produce hard copies of drawings

· Make inquiries of an existing drawing and place reference points

· Use a means of pre-command object selection to carry out editing processes

· Change the properties of drawn entities

· Edit blocks and hatched areas

· Modify continuous lines formed by a connected sequence of lines or arcs

· Use a method to remove unused items and rename other items logically.
