Autodesk AutoCAD – 7579-02

Outline of Program

A 2D Distance Learning Course is tailored to suit candidates seeking to gain experience in the use of AutoCAD.

Aimed at those wishing to obtain an introductory City & Guilds CAD qualification without having to attend a formal course of study on a regular full or part-time basis. Each candidate is supplied with the coursework material, telephone hotline support, registration with City & Guilds.

Candidates will need access to an AutoCAD work station and must attend Doncaster College ICT Academy’s Autodesk Authorized Training Centre for one full day when ready to take the final assessments. Certificates are supplied when the candidate has successfully completed all the assessments. Candidates work at their own pace, but must complete within one year of enrolment on the course.

Entry Requirements

Initially none although some prior knowledge of computers and drawing would be useful.

Who Should Attend?

This courseware is designed for new Autodesk AutoCAD users. An introductory level module, ideal for beginners and first time users of AutoCAD.

Aim of Course

On completion of the course, the candidate will be able to:

· Use associated IT, CAD hardware and operating systems

· Use basic file management techniques and maintain health and safety requirements

· Use and identify key components of the software relating to the 2D drawing environment

· Use a range of viewing commands and setup the drawing space

· Use drawing commands to produce shapes

· Use the CAD software’s coordinate system to aid accurate drawing

· Use hatch, text and simple dimensioning routines

· Use basic editing commands and produce simple hard copies.

Course Fee

£tba per candidate, includes the C&G Examination and Registration Fee, and light refreshments and lunch when the candidate visits the College for his/her final assessments.
